A Message from NABB Chair: Thank You and Best Wishes for Councilor Bok

NABB Chair Elliott Laffer and former City Councilor Kenzie Bok

As you have probably heard, April 28 was Kenzie Bok’s last day as the City Councilor from District 8, which includes most of the Back Bay (Ed Flynn, the District 2 Councilor, represents the area south of Boylston Street). Kenzie will become the Administrator of the Boston Housing Authority, an organization that she knows well having worked there before her election.

In addition to being our Councilor, Kenzie has been a friend, guide, advocate, and counselor to us at NABB. It’s hard to believe that she was only in her second term on the Council. I have appreciated the ability to work with her and with her talented staff, who will stay in place until a new Councilor is elected and sworn in in August.

Best wishes to Councilor Bok as she starts this challenging new role which is so important to those who are served by public and publicly assisted housing and that I know is a particular passion of hers. I trust that her path and NABB’s will cross in positive ways in the future.

Thanks and congratulations Kenzie.

Elliott Laffer, NABB Chair
