About Neighborhood Association of the Back Bay (NABB)
Since 1955, NABB has advocated and collaborated to protect and care for the people, buildings, infrastructure, and future of Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood—one of the most uniquely beautiful neighborhoods in the world.Â
Propelled by dedicated members of the community, NABB has established itself as a respected and authoritative voice with local elected officials and other entities who shape and impact the neighborhood, while also creating greater connection in the community through ongoing events and activities.
Through our membership, committees, board and executive committee, NABB has worked on nearly every major developmental proposal and important neighborhood improvement that has affected the Back Bay for the past several decades.

NABB is an Award Winning Neighborhood Association
The dedicated work of NABB’s volunteers has led it to being recognized as one of the city of Boston’s most effective neighborhood associations, and importantly, demonstrates the positive impact of active citizens engaging in local community issues.

The History of the Back Bay
One of the most unique and picturesque neighborhoods in the world, Boston’s Back Bay has an unusual history. Learn more about what was here before buildings and roads, how development started, and our neighborhood grew to be what Back Bay is today.
Community Service Awards
In 2001, NABB established two awards to recognize individuals, groups, and organizations that have made significant contributions to the Back Bay residential community—named for two legendary leaders: Paul Prindle and Mary Natale. These awards celebrate the people committed to making a difference in our neighborhood, and remind us how dedicated volunteers working together benefit the residents of Back Bay.
