Alert!
With expansive parks and urban wilds, lots of pedestrian infrastructure, and two of America’s most well-known historic trails – the Emerald Necklace and Freedom Trail – Boston was ideally positioned to host bigger, longer and more connective urban hiking trails. Miles Howard and his team did exactly that, creating the Walking City Trail; 27 miles connecting some of Boston’s most immersive naturalistic and built environments for a scenic journey from the Neponset River Reservation, to the Bunker Hill Monument.
We’ll learn of the mission of Walking City Trails, as we walk 3 miles, starting at the Forest Hills Orange Line station, traversing Franklin Park’s Wilderness section, stone steps and old bear cages, White Stadium, and ending through Jamaica Plain at the Stony Brook Station.
Meet at 10 AM inside the Forest Hills Station at the Information Kiosk by the fare gates.
COST: $25 per person, and is due by Tuesday September 24. REGISTER BELOW
